What platform would you run Quetoo on if it was on Steam?:

GtkRadiant 1.6.4 to officially support Mac & Quake2World

I'm very happy to share that GtkRadiant will support Quake2World and Quake II on 3 major platforms starting in version 1.6.4, which is already in testing.

Some of the features in GtkRadiant 1.6.4 we've been involved with include:

  • Mac OS X support. Lion and Mountain Lion users will be able to start mapping in minutes with our application bundle.[1]
  • Per-user game data directory support on Windows, allowing users to save their custom Q2W content in My Games\Quake2World\default where it will not interfere with the Quake2World Updater.
  • Simplified idTech2 surface inspector inspired by the GtkRadiant 1.5 / NetRadiant inspector.
  • Quake2World and Quake II game packs, entity definitions and project file templates.

We'll have some more news and an updated Creating Levels guide as the official release draws closer. But, in the meantime, feel free to drop by #radiant on QuakeNet with any questions, and as always, join us in #quetoo on Freenode for Quake2World chat.
